PASTOR JULIA RADEMACHER
President

Julia currently serves as the Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Monticello. She began her tenure on the Willow Tree Missions’ Board of Director in April of 2022 and has served as the President of the Board since January of 2023.

When asked why she serves at Willow Tree, Pastor Julia said “I serve on the board of Willow Tree because I believe it is putting my faith into action. Supporting the work of this organization creates opportunities for the Holy Spirit to act in powerful ways that brings healing and wholeness to our community and beyond. I am grateful to be a part of this amazing team!”

COURTNEY SORIA
Vice President

Courtney joined the Willow Tree Missions Board of Directors in 2024. When not volunteering on the board, she serves as the Director of Risk Management at The Pavilion Hospital in Champaign.

When asked why she chooses to serve Willow Tree she said, "I began researching community organizations that aligned with my interests in serving others. I've always felt drawn to this organization and am very happy to serve this mission. The growth has been incredible. Willow Tree Missions is a blessing within Piatt County and I look forward to the future of this organization."

Chad Johnson

Treasurer

Chad serves as the Treasurer of the Willow Tree Missions Board of Directors. He has been a member of the board since 2023. When not volunteering at Willow Tree Missions, Chad serves as the Vice President of Mortgage Lending for the State Bank of Bement.

When asked why he chose to serve at Willow Tree he responded, “The reason I joined the Willow Tree board is because of what the mission stands for and what it does to help people. It is very impressive how this community supports the organization by volunteering and providing donations.”

Jenny Carroll

Secretary

Jenny joined the Board of Directors in 2023 and currently serves as the Secretary of the Board. In addition to her work at Willow Tree Missions, she is a Senior Director of Gift Planning Operations at the University of Illinois Foundation.

Jenny said this about serving at Willow Tree, “I volunteer because everyone deserves to make their own choices about their life. Willow Tree Missions helps clients build the independence and stability they need to create the future they want”.

ASHLEY BARNES

Ashley Barnes is a speech language pathologist at Washington Elementary in Monticello. This is her 14th year as an SLP, and her tenth in Monticello Schools. She lives in Monticello with her husband, Josh and their two children, Greyson (8) and Zoa (4).

She joined the Willow Tree Board of Directors in order to help spread God’s love by taking action in her community to help those affected by domestic violence. Her goals are to help spread awareness throughout the community about Willow Tree’s mission and services, while also helping to bridge awareness and services to students in the school districts.

CHARLES LEGRAND

Charles is one of the newest board members, having just joined the Willow Tree Board of Directors in the fall of 2025. A resident of Champaign, he currently serves as the Director of Business Development for The Pavilion Behavioral Health System.

"I wanted a tangible, invaluable way to help end domestic violence. I wanted to apply my lived and professional experiences in a way that can help save lives and water family trees so that they grow bountiful for generations to come,” said Charles when asked why he chose to volunteer at Willow Tree.

MARCIA MATHIS

Marcia Mathis is the Assistant Director of Budget and Finance at the Roy J. Carver Biotechnology Center (CBC) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In this role, she oversees the operational, financial, regulatory, and business functions of the center. Mathis holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois State University and an MBA from Eastern Illinois University.

She learned about Willow Tree Missions a couple of years ago and was deeply moved and inspired by the Willow Tree Missions story. After reading about the organizations history, growth and its remarkable work in Piatt County, Mathis felt compelled to become involved with Willow Tree Missions.

Dot Turek

Dot joined the Willow Tree Missions’ Board of Directors in April of 2022. In addition to her work as a member of the Board, Dot can usually be found volunteering her time at the Resale Shops specifically in children’s clothing and helping with operations.

About serving on the Board Dot said, “I wanted to be a board member for Willow Tree Missions when our church partnered up with the mission. My church started having work days there and I knew I wanted to be a part of this much needed mission”.

Cristin Wright

Cristin joined the Board of Directors in 2025. She is retired from a 34 year career in education and currently serves as a part-time consultant for the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation.

When asked why she became involved in the organization Cristin said, “I serve on the Willow Tree Missions board because I believe that stronger individuals and families create a healthier, happier community for everyone. Willow Tree’s mission to support and empower survivors of domestic violence aligns closely with my values, especially the importance of education and awareness in breaking harmful cycles”.
